Complete 26-point check-list to service & maintain your car

If you own a car of any kind, it's quite possible to miss out on certain aspects while servicing it yourself or letting any mechanic to do so. This is especially important if you are planning to travel far with the car after the maintenance. I've made a comprehensive 26-point check-list for myself that I'm sharing with you. I use it twice yearly with my cars and so can you!

  1. Synthetic Engine Oil (Top-Up  or  Change)

  2. Brake Fluid (Top-Up  or  Change)

  3. Gear Oil / Transmission Fluid (Top-Up  or  Change)

  4. Differential Fluid (Top-Up  or  Change)

  5. Power Steering Fluid (Top-Up  or  Change)

  6. Coolant (Top-Up  or  Change)

  7. Air Conditioner Gas & Refrigerant (Top-Up  or  Change)

  8. Transfer case fluid (Top-Up  or  Change)

  9. Anti-rust on undercarriage (underneath the main body of the vehicle)

  10. Check Battery Terminals for Rust / Deposits. Clean them.

  11. Check Oil filter & replace if necessary

  12. Check Fuel Filter & replace if necessary

  13. Check Air Filter & replace if necessary

  14. Check Spark plug, clean it or replace if necessary

  15. Check Brake Pad & Brake Shoe - Cleaning & Greasing. Or, replace if necessary

  16. Check Serpentine Belt (Replace if necessary)

  17. Check hoses in Engine area (Replace if necessary)

  18. Tyre Check, Tread Depth check & Wheel Balancing. Tyre Pressure.

  19. Battery Check & Battery Water Check (Replace if necessary)

  20. Engine Compartment & Under-body Inspection

  21. Electrical Systems & Light Operations Check

  22. Exterior Engine Cleaning

  23. Check Wipers & Wiper blades (Replace if necessary)

  24. Car Washing inside Out (Do not apply polish or Wax) & Greasing

  25. Check & repair properly - Clutch, Suspension & Steering

  26. Check for Water Ingress / Leak from Doors, Windows & Dickey/Trunk
